Organizer Martin Rep: ‘The 2008 edition is the tenth. With over 100 players, it is the largest tournament in Europe, apart from the OEMC’s of course. It cannot get any better than it is now. But it is a lot of work. Enough is enough. The best time to stop is when it is still really good.’
Organizer Sjef Strik: ‘The Golden Dragon Tournament 2008 is the 25th tournament which Martin and I are organizing together; some of them with the help of others, like the riichi tournaments with Frans Roquas, and the OEMC 2005. Now we are going to enjoy playing in tournaments which are organized by others.’
So there will be no follow-up? No-one takes over the Golden Dragon?
Sjef and Martin: ‘We are sorry. No.’

There is just one comfort for the countless fans of the Golden Dragon of Nijmegen: the 2008 edition will be a very spectacular one. Some of the attractions:

• For the first time, the Golden Dragon Tournament will be a two days event
• The participants will be treated on two luxurious lunches (both on Saturday and on Sunday)
• The tournament takes place in the comfortable Triavium Congress Center in Nijmegen
• Players can use the adjacent Triavium Skating Rink with a 50% discount
• Then there are some special attactions, which the organizers want to keep a secret.

Because of the cost of this tournament, the number of players is limited to 100. As from today, subscription is opened. The cost for the two day's Golden Dragon Jubilee Tournament is 35 euro. Those who want to play in this special edition, are advised to sign up as soon as possible.
